11 Weeks To Go

Tactical Gilligan
This week has been so busy. Mini Man started school, I started school, and Mini Man had his first public performance in a musical. Getting ready for it all is just a big blur so there isn't much more to say about it.

At musical practice Mini Man asked me if I was going to take the baby in there with me. Maybe he thought I was going to leave it in the nursery.

Milestones

  • The baby is about 15 inches long and weighs over 2 lbs. The same weight as your average supermarket winter squash.
  • The area where my stomach usually hangs out has become prime real estate. There is a squatter spending a whole lot of time there that I can't seem to dislodge.
  • I realized that what I thought was the baby pushing on my side was actually Braxton-Hicks contractions. I didn't realize that feeling Braxton-Hicks was a milestone, but it was on my online checklist under the heading 'Milestones'. I stand corrected. Another thing about that list, if I don't check things off on time a tiny little crying baby head pops up. Really. It's a good thing I was able to check some stuff off. There is totally a limit to how many tiny crying baby heads I like to look at.
  • I went to the doctor and she said everything looked great. I still don't feel a whole lot of movement so she hooked me up to a monitor, called a cardiotocograph, to measure the heartbeat and contractions. Everything looked fine. I think this baby is just going to be more laid back than the one I got last time.
  • I made it to the two week appointments. That's exciting.
  • I scheduled all the rest of my appointments. All of them. I feel like an accomplished and organized individual.
